Dundee FC Social Club

Welcome

To the site of Dundee and Victoria Chess Club. We meet 7:30 every Monday  at The Dundee Social Club, 1 Thistle Street, Dundee DD3 6RF.  With members ranging from Grandmaster to novice we welcome players of all ages 16 plus and all abilities. Casual fun games, competitions and tournaments. Friendly atmosphere with coaching for beginners. Come along.

Bobby Gow Memorial

Dundee and Victoria won with a score of 9- 8. This years tournament was a very close match with it going to very last game. Dundee and Victoria would like to thank there hosts Castlehill and Stobbie Sports Bar and there staff for a very enjoyable night.

AGM News

The AGM was held on the 29th September. Due to ill health Jim Chalmers has decided to stand down as President and Jim Anderson was elected as new President.

Jim Chalmers has been President of Dundee and Victoria Chess Club for at least 15 years. Before that he was President of Victoria Chess Club.

He has devoted his life to chess and has made an outstanding contribution to chess in Dundee over the years. The club would like to thank him for all his hard work, devotion and enthusiasm and wish him all the very best for the future.
